The weather is heating up, which means Muskoka is kicking into high gear with both seasoned cottagers and newcomers excited to hit the docks. Muskoka is a great place to sit by the water and relax, but you might also seek some high-energy activities during your stay. If you’re looking for some ways to stay active this summer, check out these fun ways to break a sweat in beautiful Muskoka.

Downward Dog at Jennifer Dwyer’s Yoga Class

Join the amazing Jennifer Dwyer in her charming and rustic boathouse at Cleveland’s House Resort on Lake Rosseau. Each session is a breath of fresh air in this open-air, screened-in boathouse right on the water. This power yoga class is accessible for anyone, whether you’re a beginner or yoga master. After class, you can satisfy your sweet tooth cravings at Abbey’s Bakehouse located next to the yoga studio or head over to Cleveland’s House for some fun water activities.

Paddle Around the Lake

Stand-up paddleboarding is the newest fad to hit the Muskoka lakes and it makes for a great workout routine. This activity combines kayaking and surfing and can be a gruelling workout for your abdominals and arms. If you don’t own your own paddleboard, you can try stand-up paddle boarding by renting from one of Muskoka’s many resorts or local outfitters located right on the water. The best part of this workout: looking out onto the crystal-clear waters of the Muskoka lakes.

Go for a Cycle

Muskoka’s beautiful trails and winding country roads offer a perfect track for your next cycling adventure. There are plenty of bike shops across the region that provide rented bikes, repairs and advice on routes. Whether you are looking for a leisurely family bike ride or a challenging cycle through the scenic countryside, there are plenty of trails for you to break a sweat and explore Muskoka on two wheels.
