Chestnut Park annually hosts a golf tournament for its Port Carling, Huntsville and Haliburton Highland agents. This year it was held at Windermere on Lake Rosseau. The tournament is always held in September when the post-Labour Day market means that agents are not run off their feet by the market, and the weather is inducive to enjoy golfing. Yesterday the weather was exceptional with clear skies, soft winds, and warm temperatures. The winning foursome consisted of Marilyn Mannion, Tom McDonald, Paul Crammond and Renne Bakema. The golfing is followed by a dinner where agents, management, and staff can enjoy each others company and both “talk shop” or just about events and activities that the real estate market deflect us from. This year’s market was condensed and frenzied to its late start. High water levels, poor weather conditions and access issues pushed the start of the market into late May and June. By August Chestnut Park’s agents sold more than $200 million in recreational real estate, so a day of golf, great weather, fine food and camaraderie was very welcome.
