Waupoos Winery is The County’s oldest winery, and pioneered wine making in The County over 25 years ago. Since its opening in 2001, it has inspired the dozens of other wineries that came after it. The majestic winery sits on a 100 acre waterfront property, perfect for enjoying a trip to the winery on a sunny summer afternoon. Their wine selection is extensive, with a wide selections of reds, whites, sparkling, reserves, and even dessert wines for you to taste and enjoy. On a trip to Waupoos, you can enjoy a tastings tour, with tastings priced at $2 each or $6 for a flight of four.


Experience A Night On The Town


Dinner and drinks is what is typically organized for a night on the town, but elevate it with a trip to a unique spot like Flame + Smith. Flame + Smith is a sustainably-minded restaurant that embraces the exciting art of wood fire cooking and the supporting community that surrounds it. Everything on their menu is made using wood fire cooking, as they believe that food cooked over fire tastes better, is more exciting and brings people together. Continue your evening with a trip to The Hayloft is an old barn that has been transformed into an event venue that does live music, DJ nights, and even weddings. Every Saturday night from May to October, you can get your dance on at their Saturday Night Barn Party, filled with upbeat music and friendly locals.

The Hatch Gallery is contemporary art gallery serving as a site for exhibitions working with both established and upcoming artists. This gallery primarily features abstract artists, focusing on painting and sculpture. Visit Mad Dog Gallery in a renovated century barn situated on East Lake, minutes from Picton. Mad Dog focuses on both traditional and contemporary fine art, featuring 3 or 4 solo artists each year. They offer studio space in the upper level of the barn, and they have a beautiful garden that all can enjoy during the warmer months.

Prince Edward County is surrounded by Lake Ontario, so whether it is a sweltering summer day or snowy winter day, there is plenty of outdoor activities in The County. On a beautiful summer day, there is plenty to explore on land and in the water. Nestled in the heart of wine country, you can find the Prince Edward County Lavender Farm. This aromatic experience is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors with a leisurely walk through the farm to enjoy the beautiful sights and smells. Flowering period is from late June to mid-July, so it is ideal for a family outing in the summer.
