The second annual Midday Madness event, organized by the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce, will be taking over the “hub of the lakes” on August 17th from 12 pm – 6 pm. Visitors will have access to a number of sidewalk sales supplied by over 30 local businesses, 12 musicians, a face-painting station, and a flyboard demonstration. While other Muskoka hot spots, Huntsville and Bracebridge have developed their own Midnight Madness traditions, Port Carling has fully embraced Midday Madness as the overlying theme to bring the community together and drive sales.

Many of the businesses report record sales during Midday Madness given the increased foot-traffic and life found in the streets. This has resulted in more businesses than ever committing to hosting a sidewalk sale and immersing themselves in the community. The event serves to reinforce the signature of connecting the entire waterfront village with sidewalk sales and live music from end to end.

Visitors are encouraged to make their way down to the Port Carling docks to hunt for great deals in both downtown and uptown Port Carling. Musicians such as Jamie Sherman, Neil Hutchinson, Mike Lewis, Briar Summers, Christine Hutt, and the four-piece band from Tom’s Café among others will be playing throughout the afternoon.

Chestnut Park is proud to be a sponsor of this event along with the Township of Muskoka Lakes and the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce. We are excited to see this event grow into a local tradition that Port Carling anticipates and benefits from year after year. Visit our Port Carling office at 110 Medora Street throughout the day as there will be live music onsite!
