One of the most coveted features of 10 Nina Street is the spacious Chefs eat-in kitchen carefully designed by Jeanette Hlinka Design, as featured in House and Home, Kitchen & Bath edition. Hlinka took careful means to draw inspiration from the charm of the home itself to preserve the original design:

10 Nina Street

"The inspiration for the design at 10 Nina Street came directly from the original house itself.  We wanted to retain the charm of the original traditional elements of the house  –  like the lead paned windows on the front façade  –  and add modern elements.  So, there is this combination of traditional  and modern elements throughout the house. For example, the kitchen is a framed kitchen (traditional) with sleek stainless steel Miele appliances (modern).  It’s this interplay of modern and traditional that, I think, makes the house so appealing.  We also wanted to keep the house light and airy and create more of a relationship with the back garden.

I love the kitchen, particularly the view from behind the island in the kitchen into the back garden.  In fact, I love all of the landscaping which was done by Penny Arthurs of The Chelsea Gardener.

I also love the front door and double doors to the mudroom.  We had them fabricated to look like the original doors but used a more modern stain colour and I think they are outstanding.  And I covet the oiled finished Moncer hardwood floors with infloor heating."
