With the Canada Day long weekend fast approaching, its time to explore the many festivities available as we look to celebrate the occasion. Across our many beautiful and historical areas of service, Canada Day will be celebrated to commemorate the history, diversity, and uniqueness abundant in this unique land we call home. Whether youre looking to catch some last-minute fireworks or looking for a full-day event perfect for the family, youre bound to find the perfect celebration for Canada Day 2019.

We’ve put together a quick guide on where to celebrate Canada Day this year.

Blue Mountain Village

The Blue Mountain Canada Day celebration will be held from June 29th-July 1st with a jam-packed schedule full of fun activities such as scavenger hunts, art demonstrations, and even a beavertail eating contest. The weekend will be capped off with a majestic fireworks display that can be seen well over the mountain. Don’t miss this historic Collingwood tradition.

Picton- Main Street

The celebrations will start at 12:00 pm on July 1st in the geographic centre of Prince Edward County. What better location is there to celebrate than in Picton, on Main Street! There’s going to be fun for the whole family as airbrush tattoos, live music, and a party train will be in full swing on Canada’s birthday.

Toronto

Located on Lakeshore Blvd next to Woodbine Beach, Ashbridges Bay will be hosting the classic fireworks spectacle beginning at 10:00 pm the night of July 1st, although it is recommended you arrive earlier to get your spot! The park is easily accessible by public transit, and there will be a special viewing area for people with disabilities and their families.

On the west end, located in the heart of Etobicoke, lies a Canada day celebration that has flourished over the past 19 years. The Toronto Ribfest will be held at Centennial Park and will occur from June 28th– July 1st. You’ll find plenty of delights to enjoy as you venture past the numerous beer tents and rib vendors. Throughout the festival, there will be a schedule full of special performers, buskers, face-painting, and magic shows for the whole family.

Haliburton- Minden Hills

The small but spirited township of Minden located in the county of Halliburton prides themselves celebrating Canada in a unique and fun way by offering activities across all spectrums of interest. The first activities will take place on Water Street in the form of a fishing derby, while the hallowed tradition of the “Crazy River Raft Race” will take place in Rotary Park. The Minden Cultural Centre will be hosting more events throughout the day, so be sure to check their website for more details! The night of July 1st will be capped off with a fireworks display at the Minden Fairgrounds.

Bracebridge- Annual Rotary Fireworks 2019

The Rotary Club of Bracebridge is hosting their 11th annual community celebration of Canada day with activities happening both downtown as well as the Bracebridge Bay. The day will be packed with live country music performances, a rubber duck race, as well as a laser show to accompany the classic fireworks spectacle.
