We are beginning to see some early signs of spring here and there and as the snow slowly starts to melt away, the thought of getting outdoors is becoming more and more appealing. We have a few great places to encourage you to get outside!

Don River Valley Trail

Toronto’s Riverdale Park is split down the middle by the Don River and Don Valley Parkway, and if you visit the East side of the park, you can take in the breathtaking view of the Toronto skyline. Nestled right down the middle is the Don River Bike Trail, where you can ride your bike the span of the downtown core, and experience some public art along the way!

Arrowhead Provincial Park

Provincial parks are a great experience year round, whether it is snowshoeing in the winter or hiking in the spring and summer. Take this opportunity to head outdoors, stretch your legs, and enjoy what nature had to offer! There are five different trails available to meet the challenge of a hiker with any experience. If you’re looking for a challenge, head up to the Beaver Meadow Trail, a 7 km hike along the shores of a huge ancient lake!

Northumberland County Forest

With over 5000 acres of lush forest, this is a beautiful space to explore the outdoors. Whether you’re snowmobiling or fat biking, there is an adventure for all to enjoy! Make sure to exercise caution as there are trails designated trails for pedestrians and motorized vehicles to enjoy separately. There is also 24 km of trails for horseback riding to enjoy as well!

Scenic Caves Nature Adventure

Head out for an outdoor adventure in Collingwood at the Scenic Caves Nature Adventures. Experience a spectacular view of Georgian Bay and the surrounding countryside on the 420 foot suspension bridge, recognized as Southern Ontario’s longest suspension footbridge. Through all seasons, this is a fantastic experience!

Yours Outdoors, Haliburton

Yours Outdoors is a community of guides that help enhance the experience of the outdoors in Haliburton. Operating year round, they host events and lead activities that encourage a better understanding of arts, culture, and heightened adventure outdoors! One of the incredible activities they suggest for the spring is zip lining and high ropes at Medeba Adventure Learning Centre. This is a great way to get active this season!
