Prince Edward County Lavender has officially invited you to the Lavender Festival of 2019! This wonderful County tradition is back with two weekends of fun taking place on July 6th and 7th as well as July 13th and 14th. The festival serves to showcase the beauty of the famous and enchanting purple fields located in the heart of Hilliers wine country, approximately a two-hour drive from Toronto. Those in attendance will learn about the benefits of harvesting lavender, as well as the distillation process that culminates with the production of soothing and calming essential oils.

Thousands are welcomed each year to tour the lavender fields and appreciate the natural beauty and aroma associated with the Lavender plant. You will have the opportunity to venture through the multiple colours, scents, and even tastes that derive from the plants and receive a wealth of knowledge on how these products make their way into our everyday lives. The boutique onsite offers an extensive line of lavender-based products, as well as oils, bathing products, culinary and other gift-related items for sale. The fields themselves are truly serene, offering the perfect backdrop to your newest Instagram or Facebook photo.

The lavender farm is also home to a productive bee population that pollinate the local plants and produce delicious honey, so please be aware if you have any bee-related allergies! Numerous attractions will also be making their way to the Lavender Festival this year, such as local bands and musicians spanning across the two-weekend event. Face painters, balloon artists, and local food vendors will be present to make this festival a celebration to remember for years to come. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the hospitality and charm synonymous with Prince Edward County so be sure to bring some cash in hand, a camera, and the entire family!

The petting zoo was a big hit last year and will be making another appearance for 2019. Perfect for the little ones, the petting zoo is home to numerous breeds of rabbits, ferrets, goats, sheep, and even a miniature horse! Youll also have the opportunity to sign up for the “U-pick Lavender” service and bring home a gorgeous hand-picked bouquet that you picked yourself. Tired from walking in the field? Take advantage of one of the many mobile message chairs and fall into a state of bliss as you forget about your worries and appreciate the beauty of the picturesque scenery.

Prince Edward County Lavender is located at 732 Closson Rd, Hillier, Ontario. The festival will be open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday for both weekends. Price of admission will be $10 while children under 12 are entitled to free entry. For more information, visit their website. See you there!
