Last night, the Mad Hot Ballet event took place at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Chestnut Park Real Estate Limited, Brokerage was a proud sponsor of this event, which supports The National Ballet of Canada and their talented artists and community programmes, which inspire movement, imagination and creative expression.

The event recreated the spirit of the 70’s with a funky celebration of music, dancing, fashion, going out and getting down. In one extraordinary evening, The National Ballet of Canada raised over $1.3 million.

Here are more details about the event from The National Ballet of Canada:

Gala co-chairs Jen Lee Koss and Nicholas Mellamphy inspired an energetic and stylish evening that began with an hour-long performance. Harrison James and Jillian Vanstone performed the world premiere of Joshua Beamish’s Lollapalooza, with costumes by Canadian fashion designer Jason Wu. Emma Hawes, Alexandra MacDonald, Christopher Gerty and Spencer Hack performed an excerpt from In Between by Alysa Pires; Sonia Rodriguez and Piotr Stanczyk performed Por Ti by Luis Martin Oya; Svetlana Lunkina and Evan McKie performed Sospiri Duet by Juliano Nunes; and Hannah Fischer, Harrison James and Chelsy Meiss led the cast of Paz de la Jolla by Justin Peck.

Following the performance, 1,800 attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception in the Isadore and Rosalie Sharp City Room with signature cocktails and special guests from the 70s. The 650 gala dinner guests took their places onstage for a gourmet meal prepared by Mark McEwan’s North 44 Caters and concluded the evening with a night of dancing onstage at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts with Artists of the Ballet.
