Bulgarian Contessa Nadia Farber and her husband purchased this prominent mountaintop property, located high and immediately overlooking both the north and south coast of St. Croix. She was enchanted by the extraordinary 360-degree views, and set forth to design and build her fairytale Caribbean castle.

Influenced by the Moorish and oriental architecture of her homeland, and travels, the Castle and gatekeepers cottage comprise nearly 10,000 interior square feet. She completed the Castle in 1989, however continued to carefully acquire land, and eventually assembled an amazing 102-acre estate, enveloping the private, secluded hilltop with the surrounding rolling hillsides.

The area once housed the Farleigh Dickinson Universitys West Indies Marine Lab and is complete with roads, and infrastructure, which cascade into a large flat plain, partially zoned for a possible commercial venture. The estate culminates with waves gently meeting its sandy, palm-lined beach, with the former marine labs pier alongside. Considered St Croixs most desirable location, adjacent to the yacht club, its sheltered lagoon is just opposite the spectacular Buck Island national park.

The Virgin Island government has leveraged incredible data capacity (Global Crossings) with the creation of major (EDA) tax benefits (90%), creating investment in the tech sector through the Research and Technology Park, as well as financial companies and other business applications, successfully parlaying their vision, along with the vision of newly arriving serial entrepreneurs to create an exciting new real estate and investment landscape on the island. The Castle invites its next owner and their vision, whether a luxurious island retreat, St Croixs premier development opportunity, or a combination. The property is also (CAT 5) hurricane offered in its entirety for $12.8 million.
